Title: The Flower in the Window

In a quiet little town, nestled between hills and streams, there stood an old stone cottage with a single flower in the window. It wasn’t grand or exotic—just a simple daisy, white petals stretched wide, basking in the morning sun.

No one really noticed it, except for a little girl named Mira who passed by the cottage every morning on her way to school. She would pause for just a moment, smile at the flower, and continue on her way. There was something comforting about it. Rain or shine, that daisy always seemed to be there, bright and strong.

One morning, after a particularly heavy storm, Mira noticed the flower was gone.

Worried, she knocked on the cottage door. A soft voice answered. The door creaked open to reveal an old woman, her hair silver like the moonlight.

"You're the little girl who always smiles at my flower," the woman said kindly.

"I'm sorry... I just noticed it wasn't there today. I hope everything is okay," Mira replied shyly.

The old woman smiled and invited her in. Together, they repotted a new flower—this time a marigold, golden and warm like the sun. As they worked, the woman shared stories: how the daisy was planted by her late husband, how flowers had been her companions through every season of life, and how small acts—like a child's smile—kept her going.

From that day on, Mira stopped by every morning. Sometimes, she brought new seeds. Sometimes, they just sat and talked. And always, there was a flower in the window—bright, beautiful, and loved.

Because sometimes, the simplest things—a nice flower, a smile—grow into the most beautiful stories.
